Kirby is based in Cleveland, Ohio USA and manufactures vacuum cleaners and home cleaning products. Founded in the early 1900’s they have over 100 years of experience in the business and are a household name in cleaning solutions.

History and Experience

Our founder Jim Kirby created the first Kirby vacuum in 1906. He wanted to eliminate hard work in household chores so he developed various electrical appliances. Throughout their history and have continued to improve their American made, hand crafted cleaning systems to be the best.

Product Range

Kirby primarily manufactures vacuum cleaners and home cleaning systems. Their flagship product is the Kirby Home Cleaning System, it’s versatile and durable. This system can be converted into 12 separate units to meet different cleaning needs:

• Deep cleaning upright vacuum
• Carpet shampoo system
• Hand held vacuum
• Floor buffer

While they are best known for their vacuum cleaners they have been in the business of developing other domestic appliances for many years:

Warranty and After-Sales Services

Kirby offers a 3 year limited warranty for registered owners of our Home Cleaning System when used for personal, family or household purposes. This warranty covers defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service. For commercial use the warranty is 90 days.

One of the unique features of Kirby’s after sales service is its Service Center Vacuum Rebuild Program. This program allows original registered owners to have their Kirby system restored to “like new” condition regardless of how long they have owned it.

Kirby is a member of the Direct Selling Association (DSA) and adheres to the highest ethical business practices as outlined by the DSA.

Reputation and Market Presence

Kirby has a great reputation for quality and durability. They sell in over 50 countries with around 500,000 units sold each year, about a third of which are outside the USA. Kirby vacuums are sold direct with authorised independent distributors doing in-home demonstrations.
